My visit to mommy's work

Yesterday mommy took me to her work to introduce me to the people she works with. I got to meet alot of people and everyone was so nice. Mommy is so lucky that she works with such wonderful people!!! We spent much of the afternoon there so by the time we left I was exhausted! Mommy fed me and put me down for a nap when we got home. I slept for 3 and a half hours!!!

Gammy left again...so sad :(

Gammy came to visit us Monday and she had to leave this morning. It was a short visit but a sweet visit! :) We had alot of fun when gammy was here. I smiled at her every time she was near me and was just telling her my whole life story. Gammy loves to talk too so we just had some of the best conversations!!! :) Gammy held me lots, watched me get a bath in the big bathtub, and went on strolls with me! I love when my gammy is with me so so so much and I get really sad when she leaves. My mommy gets really sad too. Bailey also gets very sad. He loves his grandma so much because she always took good care of him when mommy and daddy would go on vacations. Gammy always takes Bailey on lots of walks when she is here too or when Bailey is at Gammy's. After Gammy left Bailey was running around the house looking out all of the windows trying to find Gammy and see if she was coming back. :( Mommy took pictures of Bailey and I pouting after Gammy left. :( We miss you Gams and can't wait to see you again soon....in 1 week!!! YAY!!!!

My first wedding reception PARTY!

I am becoming quite the party animal! :) I attended a wedding reception this past weekend. Mommy got me all dressed up again in my button up, collared shirt and khaki pants. It was very fun...there were alot of people there and it was very loud once the band started to play. I met alot of daddy's friends and everyone thought I was just the most handsome thing!!! :) Mommy and I didn't stay too long though because it was getting to be way past my bedtime.

My new favorite way to be held!

I am so interested in every little part of the world around me so I have a new favorite way to be held....looking out at the world instead of mommy and daddy's shoulder/chest! I just love looking out the window at all of the pretty trees and sunshine, all of the animals, and all of the big road work trucks that have been re-paving our street! I love looking at my puppy, Bailey, too!

Here's daddy holding me, showing me the world, well mostly just my house I guess:

My two month pediatrician appointment

Today started out so good...I slept really good last night..7:30pm-1:15am (woke up to eat)...1:45am-5:55am (woke up to eat)...6:30am-9:15am (woke up to eat and for the day)! Then I was all smiles this morning and mommy got a few on camera. Then I was taking a really good nap and mommy had to wake me up to go to the pediatrician. I was enjoying my pediatrician appointment, smiling in daddy's lap and talking to Dr. Sangree. I weigh 11 lbs and 7 oz and am 22.5 inches long. I'm in the 25th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight! I thought I was all done when Dr. Sangree left but then a nurse came in to give me shots. I had to get 3 shots and I cried very hard and my face turned bright red. :( It was very sad and mommy felt her heart breaking again (like it did the first night when I was in my crib). A few minutes later and I was okay-content. Mommy took me home, fed me, and put me down for a nap.

Here are a few pictures of me smiling this morning:

And a picture of my battle wounds on my wittle wegs (I got Scooby Doo band-aids) :)

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

I have the best daddy in the whole wide world! I am so happy he got to have a special day to celebrate just how important he is to me! We went out to lunch with my daddy's family. It was a very nice time! Mommy and daddy forgot to bring the camera into the restaurant so we took a few pictures at home. I was really tired but mommy and daddy wanted to take a few pictures before they put me down for a nap. I wasn't up for smiling but mommy and daddy were! :)

My Great Grandma and Grandpa's 60th Wedding Anniversary Party!!!!

I went to my first party this Saturday and just had a blast! It was for my mommy's grandma and grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary. Mommy has a really, really big family so there were lots of people there (close to 125 or 150 I think). Daddy said get use to it because that is how all of mommy's family get togethers are. The really good thing is there are lots of kids in the family so when I get bigger and can run around, I will have lots of cousins to run around with!!! I'm so excited!!! I don't know the exact numbers but I think my great grandma and grandpa have approx 40 grandkids and approx 20 great grandkids. Wow, that's alot! Well, I had such a great time at the party, I have to tell you all about it.

I love being in gammy's arms!!!

None of the family had seen me yet, except my immediate aunts and gammy and poppy, so everyone was very excited to see me. I got lots of kisses and was introduced to everyone. I can't remember all of their names but mommy will show me pictures to help remind me who everyone in her family is. My great aunt Mickey has a big belly because she has a little baby in there who is going to be here in about 6 weeks. And baby boy/girl Haines already has 2 brothers and 2 sisters to help welcome him/her into the world.

I also have to tell you all about my Texas relatives. They are definitely a lively bunch and when the Texans and Ohioans get together it is always a big party! My great grandma has 3 sisters and 1 brother that live in Texas and then all of their offspring (ie. kids, grandkids, great grandkids). So if you can imagine how big my mommy's Ohio family is...and just with my great grandma's offspring...multiply that by about three (one of my great grandma's sisters doesn't have any kids) and that's how big the Texan family is!!! Not all of my Texas relatives came up for the party but alot did. I got to meet some of my 3rd, 4th and 5th cousins, and even my great, great aunts and uncle (I think that's who they are to me). A few of my Texas cousins had good news, announcing their engagements. Others mommy hadn't seen since they were little toddlers and now they are getting ready for junior high and highschool. Mommy, daddy, and I hopefully will be planning a trip to visit them again, in Texas this time, for a wedding next summer. I am so excited because I will be walking around at the time and will be able to play with all of the kids/follow them all around! Mommy says the Texans know how to through a good party and especially when people come in for weddings. They plan a week full of fun things!!!

Here are a few of my Texas cousins.

The party was very loud so I didn't take many naps...just one short one. I was really tired and mommy was going to get a bottle ready for daddy to give me so my great aunt Mary took me for a few minutes. It was only a matter of seconds and I was out like a light. Mary has the special touch because she has 4 boys of her own so she is a pro!

I slept only for a short bit and then woke up just when my great grandma and grandpa were getting ready to have their 60th wedding anniversary ceremony with the priest. I was hungry so daddy gave me a bottle at this time and daddy and I just watched from a distance.

The ceremony was very nice. It was by a gazeebo and all of my great grandma and grandpa's kids stood up by them. Great grandma looked beautiful and great grandpa looked so handsome!

They still enjoy kissing after 60 years!!! :)

Mommy, daddy, and I also got some family photos taken (well minus Bailey..he was at Aunt Kristi's with cousin Wrigley).

And mommy and aunt Kristi got a picture too!

Unfortunately, the evening came quickly and I was pooped so we said our goodbyes which took a half hour and headed back to Aunt Kristi's. I was so partied out that I slept EIGHT hours at one time that night!!! Mommy said her family needs to have a party like that every day so I sleep like that every night! :)

My first night in my crib!!!

Well, I ACCIDENTALLY slept in my crib last night. Mommy wasn't planning on starting to put me in my crib at night until next week...she still couldn't bear me not being right next to her and thought she had another few days to work on that. Since mommy had put me in my crib to nap yesterday she also put me in my crib after my 7:30pm feed thinking that I would have a 9:30pm feed and then she would put me in my bassinet to sleep after that. 9:30 came and went, then 10:00, then 10:30..mommy was just doing things around the house waiting for me to wake up and eat...she should have been sleeping too!!! :) Mommy was tempted to wake me up and feed me and then put me in my bassinet, thinking if she went to bed at 10:30, I would probably wake her up right after she fell asleep. But mommy didn't wake me up and I slept until 2:15am!!! 6 hours in my crib!!! You would have thought mommy slept really good too...but nope. Mommy had the monitor sitting in the bassinet right next to her just looking at it...missing me...wondering if I was starving...wondering if I needed my diaper changed. She was so happy to see me at 2:15am and couldn't stop kissing me!!! Well, I slept great in my crib on my first night. Mommy didn't sleep so well all night. She just really missed me and had tears just sitting in her eyes all night. She'll get use to it though. After my 2:15am feed, I woke up at 6am and then around 9:30am. I was just talking to myself for a while in my crib and then mommy wanted to see me so bad she came in to get me. I am usually really pleasant in the mornings....so I don't think I would have ever cried...I would have just kept talking to myself until mommy came in to talk! YAY!!! I hope I continue to do good in my crib!

Oh my gosh mommy is sooo excited!! She wanted me to tell you this right away!!!

I just took an hour and a half nap in my crib!!! That is one of my longest daytime naps (except for my 2 car seat naps I already told you about)...but it is by far my longest nap in my crib! Mommy has put me in my crib a few times to nap to help me get use to it because I will be moving from mommy and daddy's bedroom to my nursery to sleep sometime soon. Usually when mommy put me in my crib I would wake up as soon as she layed me down or sometimes I would stay asleep but only for 15 or 20 minutes. Beside the fact that mommy wants me to get use to sleeping in my crib mommy is also trying to get me on a "schedule." Aunt Kristi told mommy about this book, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. The book talks about how important it is for a child to be well rested. The author of the book is a pediatrician and he says that it is so important for a child to be well rested....this helps them be a happier child, a healthier child, and also helps the child better succeed in school (we're not there yet....but it's never to early to start)! Basically sleep deprivation harms children greatly in all aspects of their little lives and their little bodies so it's very important to start good sleep habits from the beginning. Mommy just got the book yesterday and she has only read a few pages but right now for my age it says I should not be awake for longer than a two hour span at a time. When I am, I will get overly tired and have trouble trying to sleep later in the day and/or at night. So mommy fed me around lunch time, then she took me upstairs to my nursery, swaddled me, rocked me, turned my mobile on, and put me in my crib to sleep. And that is just what I did...for an hour and a half!!! :) Mommy had the monitor practically attached to her hip wondering why I had not made a peep. She was tempted to come up and check on me. When I woke up she told me how proud she was of me!!! I will keep you posted on how I continue to do on my "schedule" and in my crib!

Here are a few pictures of me practicing in my crib (these were from the other day though):

My first bath in the big bathtub!!!

YAY! I have graduated from the kitchen counter to the big bathtub! But I haven't given up my yellow teddy bear sponge yet...I still need him! I had a great time in the big bath. I loved when mommy squeezed the warm water from the washcloth on me and I loved sticking my toes in the water and kicking my legs. Mommy kept a warm washcloth on my belly to help me stay warm. (She learned that trick from Aunt Kristi)! Thanks for teaching that to mommy Aunt Kristi! See me loving my first big boy bath!!!

I LOVE being read to

One of my favorite things is being read to. Mommy first read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to me when I was fussy one day a few weeks ago. It calmed me down and the was the only book mommy took off the bookcase that time so she read it again. Then I started to fall asleep so mommy read it again. Well, mommy read that book 10 times in a row!!! I just loved listening to her read so she didn't want to stop. She learned her lesson after that though...get more than one book to read at a time since I love it so much! Mommy now has The Very Hungry Caterpillar memorized as well as many others like Moo, Baa, La La La and Not The Hippopotamus. I love when mommy tries to make the animal sounds and the different voices of the characters in the stories! I can't wait until I can read my books...but before that I can't wait until I can turn the pages for mommy and daddy!

Here's mommy reading:

Stretching and Talking

I am swaddled when I sleep so after a long night of being swaddle, I love to stretch. It's mommy's favorite part of the morning! She lays me down, unswaddles me, and I stretch for a very long time...it feels really good! Mommy and I stretch together. We both put our arms over our head and mommy's says....Sttrreeetttccchhhh!!!!

Here's me stretching!

I also love to talk to mommy and daddy. They aren't quite sure what I am saying yet. Neither am I but I love to hear myself make noises! :)

Here's me talking!

Did I just make that noise!?!?

Cool!
