Part 1: Getting There!

Gammy dropped us off at the airport first thing Monday morning....even before the sun was up! Mommy and daddy were all prepared for my first airplane ride and packed everything they could think of to help occupy me and keep me seated for our flights, and I mean everything. We had a separate suitcase that contained only items such as books, toys, dvd player and Barney movies, snacks, suckers, and other forms of entertainment. Blankie and Paci were given special permission by mommy and daddy to come on the airplane too (instead of being packed away in our checked luggage where they technically should have been but mommy and daddy thought desperate times may call for desperate measures and thought blankie and paci would help cure any mid-air meltdowns that may occur). After getting through security which was a breeze (minus my cups of milk and water having to go through some special testing), sitting patiently in the airport looking at all of the big airplanes, and waving to just about everyone that was around, we boarded our plane! We were packed tight in a row of three with all three seats being occupied and me on daddy's lap. This was leg 1 out of 2 of our flight down to Florida. We were in the air for approximately 1.5 hours and I was soooooooo good that I was given a new nickname, "perfect angel!" Mommy often calls me her "angel" but this time I was her "PERFECT angel!" I sat fairly still and quietly on daddy's lap the entire flight. We had breakfast, read a few books, and just looked around and the next thing we knew, we were landing in Atlanta for our layover! The layover decision ended up being a great one. It broke up our flights into two short/very manageable flights and gave me a break in between to run around the airport, say hello to hundreds more people, and get all of my energy out. We had a short layover, grabbed some lunch and smoothies and then boarded our next plane. We lucked out on our plane from Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale and were in a row with an empty seat. It was nap time so I spent all but 15 minutes of our 1 hour and 15 minute flight sleeping in mommy's arms. The last 15 minutes, I sat in my own seat and then......we were there! Seamless, absolutely seamless! Poor mommy worried for weeks all for nothing!

Looking at the big airplanes, up close and personal! My first taste of a smoothie, YUM-O!
Whoa airplane!
Da-da's kisses!
Amazed by what I see out the window!
Good 'ole paci and blankie keeping me content! We're almost there!
And we're here!!!
