Wow, has life been busy!!! Sorry I have been MIA for so long.....the last time I posted was after my Aunt Kristi walked as a survivor in the Race for the Cure. That seems like forever ago. Well the past couple weeks have been quite hectic to say the least. I can't even remember if I told you that mommy, daddy, Bailey and I bought a new house! It has been a very exciting time but it has been a very stressful time as well. I personally have not been too stressed but mommy and daddy sure have...and Bailey too. We filled our old house with lots and lots and lots and lots of boxes. My room pretty much stayed in tack until the morning that the movers came so I wasn't affected too much. Really the only time I wondered what was going on was when mommy would be holding me and would run in to a box or too...I would get jostled a little and would think why are all of these boxes in mommy's way? But Bailey was really wondering what was going on. His running room was overtaken by boxes so he just hid under the dining room table most of the time. Mommy kept telling him that he was coming with us but he wasn't going to believe her until that actually happened! Poor pup!
The big day was last Friday. Mommy woke me up and told me to say bye-bye to our old house which we all loved so so so much. It will always be special. It was an old guy but boy was it special. It was mommy and daddy's first house and the house they brought me home too. Okay, I better not go on to much because mommy is starting to get tears in her eyes. We will miss it though. We will miss the house (creaky steps and all), the beautiful, huge trees in the neighborhood, the quietness and friendliness of the neighborhood, the convenience of wonderful shopping and restaurants just a mile away, and especially Paul, Kim, and Sarah (our next door neighbors). Paul was our personal handy man! Sarah talked to me every morning and night from her house. I couldn't hear her obviously but her mommy, Kim, told me and mommy that she said night-night to Noah every night and asked about Noah every morning. She is probably still talking to me and I'm not even next door anymore. :( Well after mommy, Bailey, and I said good-bye to the house, I went to the sitter's, Bailey went to Aunt Heather's, and mommy went to work. Daddy dealt with the move. Good 'ole daddy!!! Later in the afternoon Gramps came to help daddy at our new house for a little while. Thanks Gramps!!!
After mommy got off work, we safely rushed to our new house! We were very excited to get to our new house and Grammy was going to be arriving shortly so we were excited to see her too! Grammy was coming for the weekend to help us! Mommy showed me around the house and shortly thereafter I went to bed. I slept in my pack-in-play in a room full of boxes (well our whole house was full of boxes) and with no stripes on the walls, but I slept well. Mommy said it was just my temporary room (which I am still in by the way so I don't quite know what temporary means exactly) because my new nursery was being painted. Mommy and daddy are recreating my nursery from the old house in the new house. This way I won't even know that I am sleeping in a different place! Plus mommy and daddy love the design of my nursery and weren't ready to get rid of it yet. I love my stripes too! I've been looking at the walls in my temporary room when mommy is feeding me and putting me to sleep at night wondering where those stripes went.
After I went to sleep the first night in our new house mommy, daddy, and gammy enjoyed a meal that our wonderful realtor, Angela, had ordered and delivered for us! Mommy also enjoyed a few sips of wine (her first taste of an alcoholic beverage in about hmmmm…..16 months)! She only had a few sips because it was very strong wine (Angela must have really wanted mommy and daddy to relax after such a stressful process)!
We also met some very nice neighbors already! John (our neighbor to our left) came over to introduce himself and said his wife's name is Polly and he has two daughters, a 9 and 14 year old (potentially a baby-sitter that I'm sure I will love…when mommy gets the strength to leave me with her). We also met Doug and Cindy (our neighbors to our right) who have Sam, 4, and Grace, 6. Cindy even brought us some home-baked pumpkin spice bread which was delicious! We met Nadine too. She is the home-owners association president and lives across the street a few houses down. Nadine brought us some yummy brownies with icing! Mommy's favorite, YUM!
So what did we do the first weekend in our new house? UNPACKED, of course! We made a lot of progress but still have a little more to go. What are we going to do the second weekend in our new house you ask? UNPACK, of course! :) Mommy is working on taking some photos of the house to have me post soon. Stay tuned! But for now we have a couple to post!
Bye-Bye old house. We will miss you so much! :(
